Internet Explorer 8
Hi y'all,
All they're offering as far as Windows Updates this week for me is IE 8; personally I think it's too soon to update from IE 7, which for me works okay. I don't use it much, just for Windows Update mainly.
Is anyone else using IE 8 and how do you like it?
I like the idea of each tab opening a new process so if one tab crashes the whole browser doesn't go with it, but if crashing is a problem, that's a deal killer for me.
I'll stick with 7 and use my other browsers.

I'm sticking with 7 for the time being as well.
I heard it was a PITA to go back if you didn't like it, and I like you do not use it that much regardless.

That's a big drawback for me, helps me make up my mind even further.
Thanks.

Re: Internet Explorer 8
Elwood, I never even installed IE7...still have IE6, but all I use is Firefox. I did read on a forum (I think it was MajorGeek) that IE8's separate process mode eats up a lot of extra memory.
I just like FF better, for security reasons, and because it's so easy to tailor it to my preferences.
Given MS' history for doing a lot of their design AFTER the product hits the market, I think you're wise to hold off for a while, anyway. Traditionally, they don't really get the majority of bugs out of their packages until the third or fourth version.

I tried IE8 and it seemed to slow my computers way down so I went back to IE7.
There is a removal tool for IE8.
It's not at all hard to revert.

I sometimes fly by the seat of my pants, like how I installed IE 7 before installing SP3 so I can't go back to 6 unless I uninstall SP3 first.
Everything was running so good I "just did it".
